BOARD MEMBERS

Jack I. Dinaburg – President
Jack I. Dinaburg has over 35 years of leadership experience in both private and non-profit sectors. He was the founder and first president of the Upstate Kidney Association and the National Kidney Association of Upstate New York. Jack has served on the boards of the Jewish Community Center, Temple Sinai, and Big Brother/Big Sister.

Robert Crandall - Vice President
Currently Vice-President of Fireproof Children / Prevention First and a recently retired, 30-year veteran of the fire service, Bob was named Firefighter of the Year 2000 for his community-based prevention and education efforts and career achievement.

Robert Cole , Ph.D. - Treasurer / Secretary
Robert Cole is President of Fireproof Children/Prevention First and one of the nation's leading experts in fire safety education. He is a research psychologist and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Rochester Medical Center School Of Nursing.

Joan Roby-Davison - Ms. Roby-Davison is Executive Director of Group 14621 Community Association, serving more than 13,000 households in the northeast area of the City of Rochester. The Association works with the City, the Rochester Fire Department, Rochester Police Department and others to improve life in this neighborhood, including household hazard reduction and safety.

Jane L. Glazer
Founder and president of Home Trends, Picket Fence and Sleep Solutions, mail order catalog businesses for more than 20 years. She serves on the Board of Trustees of WXXI, and as President of the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Community Center.

Carolyn Kourofsky
Carolyn is a writer and President of Excelsior Editorial Consulting. She has 20 years of experience raising money for major hospitals, universities and museums in the Rochester area. She is author of Mikey Makes a Mess.

Frank McGarry
President of Francis A. McGarry Associates and project manager for the National Association of State Fire Marshals. Mr. McGarry has more than 20 years of service as New York State’s first State Fire Administrator and head of the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control

Stewart R. Moscov , CLU, ChFC,
He is president of Heritage Financial Services, past president of the Estate Planning Council of Rochester, past president of the Rochester Life Underwriters Association, and a life and qualifying member of the Million Dollar Roundtable.

Jennifer Glanton-Ralph
Currently a stay-at-home mom, Jen most recently served as Director of Programs for Fireproof Children. She is an illustrator and created the illustrations for Fireproof children’s book Mikey Makes a Mess.

Sharon P. Stiller
A Partner with Boylan, Brown Code, Vigdor & Wilson LLP, Ms. Stiller is also co-chair of the United Way Campaign for Justice and has served on the Monroe County United Way Board of Directors. She is a Board Member of Mercy Outreach and the National Women’s Hall of Fame, and an Advisory Board Member of Habitat for Humanity.

 


Prevention1st Foundation Staff

Ellie Stauffer - Program Director -Ellie holds a Master's degree in Organizational Development, Training and Human Resources Development and a BS degree in elementary education.  Ellie developed Prevention First/play safe! be safe! - Fire Safety Education for Preschool Children and Families and prepared trainers across the country to present this train the trainer program to early childhood educators, reaching thousands of children and families across our nation. 


Advisory Board

Maria Figueroa - Captain Figueroa has been a firefighter for 19 years and held the title of Public Education Bureau OIC of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue for 5 years. She was named Florida Fire Safety Educator of the Year in 1996. She founded the firesetter intervention coalition in Miami-Dade County, FL.

Harriet J. Kitzman, Ph.D. - Dr. Kitzman is Associate Dean for Research and Professor of Nursing & Pediatrics at the University Of Rochester School Of Nursing. She has led several research studies related to the health and well-being of economically disadvantaged families with young children and youth.

Gaylord Lopez, Ph.D. - Dr. Lopez has been Director of the Georgia Poison Center (GPC) for the past 19 years. He holds Diplomat status with the American Board of Applied Toxicology and is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at Mercer University School of Pharmacy.

Chief Floyd A. Madison -Chief Madison has headed the Rochester Fire Department for eight years, following 30 years in the Washington (D.C.) Fire Department. He implemented the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in Rochester, which has been noted for its success by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Mary Louise Musler - Ms. Musler is Executive Director of 292 Baby, a community collaboration administered by Monroe Community College which develops and administers programs to all early childhood educators in Greater Rochester.

Jimmy Parks, R.N. - Mr. Parks is outreach coordinator of the Burn Center at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, which treats more than 200 severely burned children and adults from around the state each year.

Ronald J. Papa
Mr. Papa is the President and Chief Executive Officer of National Fire Adjustment Co., Inc. Family owned and operated since its inception in 1922, National Fire Adjustment Co., Inc. (NFA) has evolved to become one of the nations largest public adjusting and loss-consulting firms. Under Mr. Papa’s leadership, NFA Has assisted in the preparation, support, and settlement of claims for a diverse number of clients in both the public and private sector.

R. Wayne Powell Mr. Powell is Life Safety Specialist for Marriott International and former Chief of Citizen and Community Preparedness of the United States Fire Administration (USFA). He has been involved in fire protection and training for more than 30 years, including USFA programmatic activities and National Fire Academy training.

Linda Southward, Ph.D . - Dr. Southward is a research scientist with the Social Science Research Center at Mississippi State University. Her experience in public health social work, undergraduate teaching and research have centered on promoting children’s health and well being.

Renee Tembeckjian, Ph.D.
Dr. Tembeckjian is a clinical psychologist. She is a regular consultant to public and private schools, clinical supervisor for  Onondaga-Madison  BOCES and a frequent presenter/keynote speaker on topics in child development, family mental health, and educational systems interventions with children.
