Foundation Board Member Appointed to
State Fire Post

Rochester Fire Chief Floyd A. Madison, an advisory board member of Prevention 1 st Foundation, has been appointed by Governor Eliot Spitzer to serve as New York state fire administrator. He will lead the state’s Office of Fire Prevention and Control.
Chief Madison headed the Rochester Fire Department for eight years, following 30 years in the Washington (D.C.) Fire Department. He implemented the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in Rochester, which has been noted for its success by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
