New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities presents "The Listening and Learning" Tour The NY State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities is presenting "The Listening and Learning Tour" throughout New York State in order to shape their plan for services from now until 2012. The final stop will be in Buffalo at the Millenium Airport Hotel at 2040 Walden Ave, Cheektowaga on Tuesday, June 17th.  Ellie Stauffer of Prevention1st Foundation will be making a presentation to their panel regarding our concerns for  adequate training programs and materials regarding safety for their clients. Also, she will present our concerns regarding better incident reporting, deeper data analysis concerning injuries, and preparing 1st responders, such as fire fighters, on how better to communicate with people with developmental disabilities.
